DEBORD RACING

Born in the Dominican Republic, Ivan Debord emigrated to the United States in 1994. After first moving to Florida, he eventually settled in Washington Heights, New York City. Although he didn’t speak English initially, with his father’s encouragement he took classes and became fluent.

Having gotten an early start with motor bikes, Ivan was already riding at the age of 8.

Inspiration came from watching neighborhood guys in Washington Heights riding motorcycles and illegal street racing. His mentor at that time, “Gem,” brought him to his first track day at Louden Raceway in New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2000. It wasn’t long before Ivan was an accomplished rider, earning his CCS certification race license in 2001, and making the leap from Amateur to Professional in 2002 (white plate). His success on the track continued, leading into his best year to date with placement at #4 in the Overall Atlantic Regional Championship in 2012 and full sponsorships by Dunlop Tires, Galfer, Motul, Absolute Cycle, Shoei Helmets, Dianese, and PriMoto.

When Ivan isn’t at the track or spending time with his family, he also enjoys going to the gun range in his spare moments.
